St Patricks Festival Marbella
Once again winter is past and spring is upon us, this means only one thing. The start of festival season and there is nothing better than starting it with Ireland´s national holiday, right here in Marbella.
We are grateful that for the third consecutive year, the Ayuntamiento de Marbella has brought us this opportunity to celebrate. With the support of the council´s Foreigner’s office and Tourism office this annual event has become a weekend to remember here in Marbella.
The Irish Club Marbella and local businesses are proud to host this year’s event at the Terraces de Puerto Deportivo right on the Paseo Maritimo in the centre of Marbella.
Once again it seems the powers that be are predicting glorious weather and a massive turnout on both days from 12pm to 7pm. Of course the party continues each night with our Sponsor Bars & Restaurants hosting events throughout the night in Marbella, San Pedro and beyond.
This year we have a jam packed entertainment schedule with many of last year’s acts plus many more, with music and dance spanning hundreds of years of Irish and Spanish Traditions, you will not be bored.
Last year’s big favourite the “Aloha College Irish Dancers” sponsored be Spence Clarke Accountants will feature on Saturday from 3pm.
Expect to hear the best of Irish music from modern hits by Westlife to U2, the Saw Doctors, Sharon Shannon and more traditional songs from yesteryear with hits by the Dubliners and the Wolf tones and many more. Local Musicians, Mark Connor, Ron Howells, Sean Murray, Ben Murphy , Alan Hamiltion, TucA Jazz band, Mandy L and many more with Folklore dance group Europealia on Sunday Afternoon.
As usual there will be plenty of food and drink, encompassing Ireland’s most famous exports with globally renowned drinks brands and the best of food all the way from Ireland and expertly prepared and presented by The Hogan Stand, Casa Tua, Route 66m The Claddagh, The Orange Tree and more.
As a family event your children will be entertained by our resident clown, face painters, bouncy castles and for the bigger children the bucking leprechaun. Several Disney characters will be present during both days, with Themes from “Frozen” , “toy Story” and many more. Costa Gaels will be present throughout both days to display their Gaelic Football and Hurling Skills both on the Terraces and on the beach, with regular games daily.
Everybody is encouraged to take part and test your abilities and maybe join the clubs twice weekly training sessions here in
Marbella Rugby Club especially the rapidly growing kids club on a Sunday that currently has over 40 kids!
