San Pedro de Alcantara Carnival

The San Pedro de Alcantara Carnival takes place this year from February 16 to February 18, 2012. The carnival coincides with celebrations that are also taking place in Marbella, Nueva Andalucia and Las Chapas with the Marbella Carnival. So check both schedules to find the events nearest you.

San Pedro Carnival 2012 Schedule of Events

Thursday February 16

10:30 Chirigotas Kids Competition (chirigota = group that sings humorous and satirical songs during Carnival) at Plaza de la Iglesia

Friday February 17

17:00 Kids Party on Plaza de Istán (free!)

* Entartainment
* Bouncy castle
* Costume competition (individual, pairs, and groups). Children aged 14 and under are welcome to participate.

Saturday February 18

19:00 Comedy Parade starting at Recinto Ferial fairgrounds (next to the municipal tent), C/ Jorge Guillen, Avda. Pablo Ruiz Picasso, C/ Lagasca, C/ Jerez, C/ Marques del Duero, C/ Córdoba, C/ Pepe Osorio, Avda. Oriental, C/ Revilla y finaliza en Avda. Pablo Picasso (esquina C/ Bahía).

Followed by the Gran Fiesta de Carnaval (the big party!) at Plaza de la Iglesia and the adult costume contest (aged 14+)


23:00 Burial of the Sardine - carnival closing ceremony at Avda. Oriental
