Restaurante Los Sardinales Playa Alicates
9th. November 2013
It must be eight or so years since we last ate at
Los Sardinales, and then it was a pleasant chiringuito that, at a push, could seat about 60 people. Now it is over 3 times the size, capable of accommodating some 200 diners. Though it changed hands some years ago, the ethos of smiling, pleasant, helpful staff seeking to please, lives on!
A well ordered menu is somewhat larger than before having over 30 starters and 45 mains, with a further 15 House specials for good measure. In general the prices have advanced considerabley, and are now in line with most mid to budget restaurants, though portions were generous and well presented, and on hot plates!
The position has stunning views of the bay of Marbella, and in the distance, the mountains of north Africa.
We all opted for the sopa de pescado which arrived piping hot, full of fish and shell fish, and was delicious. My Sole was cooked as ordered, and was as good as it gets. One of our party was somewhat disappointed with his Escalope Milanase which was Quite dry, and needed a sauce to make it more palatable. Les femmes devoured a mixture of Chipirones and Boquerones – yummy.
