I was wondering whether the price of properties in Marbella have decreased a lot as a result of the financial crisis. I also understand that the legal situation is better now. Is it a good time to buy? Can you recommend a reliable real estate agent?

Hello prices in Marbella have now officially slowly started to rise again, but more importantly the amount of actual distress sales and good bank repossessions for sale has dropped a lot in the last 16 months. We can really feel that the property crisis on at least a local level seems to be over. We have lots of good property deals in Marbella. We are agents and key holders for some of the top banks allowing us to show you bank repossessions too.

As an expansion plan we have just purchased an extra office / real estate shop in Cabopino Port Marbella. See our latest good deals.

Real estate has been one of the main economic engines of Marbella until two years ago. An important corruption scandal and the financial crisis have put this sector on hold. There have been some foreclosures, but apparently not as many as in other places. Prices have decreased but not dramatically, especially on desirable properties.

There has been a major shift in the real estate agency sector with many agents closing their activity. Most pundits think the market is bottoming, especially now that a new city plan has been approved by the Junta de Andalucia. We are not expert in this domain, but can point you to the excellent and down-to-earth Andalucia Market Report written by Barbara Wood, a reputed professional operating on the Costa del Sol for a long time.
