The story takes place in the thirteenth century in Italy, in the city of Verona. It is a time marked by political struggles between the Guelphs, supporters of the Pope, and the Ghibellines, supporters of the Holy Roman Empire, a conglomerate of states of Central Europe. Romeo and Juliet are two young lovers belonging to noble families of Verona faced by political rivalry, but also because Romeo of the Montagues, the Ghibellines, killed Capellio's son, head of the Capulets, Guelphs.

Sinopsis: La acción se sitúa en el siglo XIII en Italia, en la ciudad de Verona. Es una época marcada por las luchas políticas entre los güelfos, partidarios del Papa, y los gibelinos, partidarios del Sacro Imperio Romano germánico, un conglomerado de estados de la Europa central. Romeo y Julieta son dos jóvenes enamorados que pertenecen a familias nobles de Verona enfrentadas por la rivalidad política, pero también porque Romeo, de los Montesco, gibelinos, ha matado en combate al hijo de Capellio, jefe de los Capuleto, güelfos.
