Medical care for my father?

Our family is planning on moving to the Costa del Sol from the UK later this year and we are hoping that my elderly father will come with us. He is 83 and is obviously very concerned about medical care for himself and feels that he would not be able to come with us as he wouldn't be able to afford the medical. He receives a UK state pension and from what I have been able to find out it looks he would receive his medical as he does in the UK, but Pay for prescriptions. I would be grateful for any thoughts on this.

I'm not sure you're looking for a complete medical facility where your father would live in but my mother is in Sanyres home for the elderly where there is a full time medical care(if needed) board/lodging. It's not inexpensive but it's round the clock. Also you could become a member of Helicoptoros Sanitaria for a yearly fee which is an emergency ambulances or just for a blood test.Clinica del Rio is also a good option for general medical care and doctors.Medication here is quite inexpensive too.
