Dear Marbella family,

Thanks for a great site and congrats on your radio interview.

Considering sending my daughter (14) to an English speaking camp this summer. She loves arts, acting, singing but sports as well. Anything you could recommend in your area?

Summer camps in Marbella
by: Marbella Family

There are so many camps to choose from in Marbella and on the Costa del Sol for that matter. Kids can spend overnight, a whole day, or just a few hours at a number of camps that are offered in the area. It seems as though your daughter is keen to dance and sing, so my first thought would be to sign her up to Stagecoach in San Pedro (just a few minutes drive from Puerto Banus). They offer a summer workshop in English for children aged 4 - 17 which includes classes in drama, dance and singing. Then everyone goes into rehearsals which lead to a final performance – to which you can invite your friends and family! I am not sure of the hours the summer workshop is, but the rest of the year usually goes for 3 hours more or less.

Then there is Princess Studios in Puerto Banus that offers a kids summer workshop in their dance studios for boys and girls aged 10+ starting July 5th running from 10:30am to 4:30pm. This year they are teaching GLEE CLUB from the hit TV show and will include music, dance, drama and back-stage instructors.

And for sports there are also several options. I think I´d like my kids to try a new one at the Estepona riding school (15 minutes from Marbella). This camp runs from 9:00am to 7:00pm and offers so many exciting activities such as pony riding (ponies can be big!), soccer, swimming, tennis, padel, survival skills, just to name a few. The venue is so beautiful that you feel like hanging out there the whole day and horse ride. The staff there is really nice and I expect the camp to be quite interesting and fun. It´s the first year, so we´ll see.

If you don´t want your kids out all day there is another camp offered at the Aloha Gardens Multisports Camp that offers every kind of sport activity you can think of like tennis, hockey, handball, volleyball, basketball and more. The camp runs from 10:00am to 1:00pm, which is plenty as the heat of the sun in summer is pretty bad and the kids start to get exhausted as there isn´t much shade there. My kids tried this camp one summer and it worked out pretty well.

Take a look at the schools and camps page to get more information on summer camps in Marbella. In the meantime we´ll keep you informed of new camps in the area.
