I haven’t eaten at this delightful venue for about 15 years. Back then it was run by that well known restraunteur, Gary Waite, and it became one of the regular weekend social events. Lunching or Dining on the large terrace with the magical view over the Golf course and down to the sea, we would while away 3 or so hours in the company of friends and acquaintances making for a very pleasant afternoon.
So, prompted by a Cool Deal offer, our foursome, lunched on the small terrace seating about 60, and chose from a ‘special limited menu’, Tempura Prawns with a sweet pepper sauce, a Cobb salad with Chicken, egg, onion, and blue cheese, and Salmorejo soup (liken to Gazpacho) for starters, and Mains of Entrecote Steak (ordered ‘Poco Hecho’, not in need of reviving!) California Caesar salad, Chicken Taglitelle with mushrooms and a mustard cream sauce, and a Beef burger with trimmings. an interesting version of Tarte Tatin for dessert.
I was concerned about the restricted choice available, but when our selections arrived, to my relief, all of the chef’s offerings were generous, well presented, tasteful to the point of being yummy, and, together with the excellent service we experienced meant that we will return.
Later, I found out that they have a weekend only chef’s Menu del day, with more dishes available, and, with a small supplement, that is already part of the C.D menu option, it is no more expensive than the cool deal menu! Why there was this strange anomaly, I know not. As a suggestion, to enhance their promotion, why don’t they make the chefs MDD as well as the special CD menu eligible on Saturdays & Sundays?

Marbella Golf Restaurant is on El Rosario at Ctra de Cadiz km.188 29604. From the East turn off at the next slip road immediately after the El Roserio turn off. From the west exit at the hospital turn off, go over the caratera, take the first right and follow the signs To gain access to the grounds, at the gate, press the button in middle of the road. There is adequate parking.

No closing day. Average 3 course meal with wine 30€. Heather Monder manages the restaurant, Urga was our waitress, and Joanna & Joseph are the Filipino chefs.
