The annual fair in Marbella called La Feria de San Barnabé is starting this month and will last all week long. This fair is in honor of the city´s patron saint Saint Barnabé and is a must see while in Marbella. There are lots of celebrations and events taking place throughout the Marbella.
The Marbella Feria 2010 starts on Monday June 7 and lasts until Sunday June 13. The fair is held on the Marbella Fairgrounds on Avenida Las Albarizas in the east side of town.
Schedule for the Marbella Feria 2010
Monday June 710:00pm - Fairground inauguration at the fairground entrance.
11:00pm - Proclamation of the Fair and Celebrations reading at the Sport Port or Marbella boardwalk followed by a crowning of the Queens and Damas of the San Barnabe Feria 2010 as well as the election of the most popular queen. Soon after there will be a presentation of ?Solera de Jerez Flamenco School?.
11:45pm - Fireworks display at
El Faro beach followed by a musical concert by Miguel Saez at the Puerto Deportivo.
Tuesday June 89:00am - 2:00pm - Exhibition of ?Fair Memories?in the Town Hall (lasts until June 10, visiting hours from 9:00am to 2:00pm). This is a collection of photos of past fairs which have been donated by the public, if you would like to participate contact the Municipal Delegation of Celebrations at fiestas@marbella.es or call 952 765724.
12:00pm - City street rockets and fireworks.
1:30pm - Fair inauguration at the Parque de la Represa (Represa Park) to the music of Pollinica de Marbella.
1:30pm - 8:00pm - Day fair with fun activities at Parque de la Represa. Senior Citizen tent located at the fairground entrance.
5:00pm - 7:00pm - Dance performances on stage located next to the Bonsai Museum.
6:30pm - Children´s rides, attractions and fair activities at the fairgrounds.
Wednesday June 912:00pm - Rockets fired throughout the city streets.
1:30pm - 8:00pm - Day fair with fun activities at Parque de la Represa. Senior Citizen tent located at the fairground entrance.
5:00pm - 7:00pm - Dance performances on stage located next to the Bonsai Museum.
5:00pm - Children´s party at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos. Fun activities and games for all ages. Jumping castle, zip lines, cake, refreshments and much more. Calle José Meliá, 2.
6:30pm - Children´s rides, attractions and fair activities at the fairgrounds.
6:30pm - 1:00am - 1ST CHILDREN´S DAY. Children get a
50% discount on all rides at the fairground. Beware, it does get crowded!
Thursday June 1012:00pm - Ringing of the Bells, rockets, and musical rendition of the national and Andalusian anthems by the Municipal Band of Music and the Pollinica de Marbella. Following this event is a performance of gigantic puppets Pasacalles de Gigantes y Cabezudos.
Itinerary - Starting at the Town Hall on
Plaza de los Naranjos, calle Estación, Plaza de la Victoria, calle Pedraza, calle Fortaleza, calle Africa, calle Alameda, Plaza de San Juan de Díos, calle Enrique del Castillo, Avenida Ramón y Cajal and ends at Plaza de la Victoria.
1:30pm - 8:00pm - Day fair with fun activities at Parque de la Represa. Senior Citizen tent located at the fairground entrance.
5:00pm - 7:00pm - Dance performances on stage located next to the Bonsai Museum.

11:00pm - Jose Merce performs at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos (Calle José Meliá, 2). FREE entry!
Friday June 1110:00am - Religious and civil procession to the Cross of Humilladera (Calle Malaga) with music by the Municipal Band and the Pollinica de Marbella.
Itinerary Route - Starting at the Town Hall on
Plaza de los Naranjos, Plaza Gral. Chinchilla, calle Carmen, Plaza de la Iglesia, calle Caridad, calle Misericordia, Plaza Altamirano, Plaza Puente de Málaga, calle Malaga, the Humilladero Cross. The procession then returns via the same route until it reaches the Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, or
Incarnation Church.
10:30am - Awarding of commemorative medals at the Humilladero Cross in Malaga street.
11:00am - Mass at Incarnation Church followed by a procession to honor the Patron Saint Bernabé.
Itinerary: Starting at the Town Hall on
Plaza de los Naranjos, Plaza Gral. Chinchilla, calle Carmen, Plaza de la Iglesia, calle Caridad, calle Misericordia, Plaza Altamirano, Plaza Puente de Málaga, calle Malaga and the historical center of la Cruz de Humilladero. The procession returns following the same route until it reaches Incarnation Church.
1:00pm - Horse procession at the Parque de la Represa.
1:30pm - 8:00pm - Day fair with fun activities at Parque de la Represa. Senior Citizen tent located at the fairground entrance.
5:00pm - 8:00pm - Dance performances on stage located next to the Bonsai Museum.
6:30pm - Children´s rides, attractions and fair activities at the fairgrounds.

Saturday June 1211:30am - Fun and games (apple game, sack race, belts in bicycles...) at the Parque de la Represa. Arrive one hour ahead to sign up for games.
12:00pm - Fireworks throughout the city streets.
