WYSIWYG
This restaurant, that opened in the Spring of 2015, is almost entirely dedicated to confirmed Carnivores, with only a token half dozen Fishy dishes on the menu. The quadrant shaped dining room has some 65 covers with a further 65 on the pleasant terrace that surrounds it and at the end of this is a small lounge area. Comfortably appointed with nice table settings, modern décor and lighting and background music as it should be – low in volume.
The expansive menu has almost 40 starters and sharing dishes, but it took a little help from the manageress Nikoleta to get to grips with 40 Steak options. These are divided into cuts, then sub divided into Breed, and are offered in various weights. I found it a little strange that they don’t offer any of the traditional Beef dishes like ‘Filet Mignon, Tornedo, Chateaubriand, or even a Boeuf Bourgogne, but no, this is a steak exclusive!.
A couple of yummy Oxtail croquettes as an appetiser were followed by a shared Foie Gras dish and mains of a Burgos bred Wagyu Steak, and an American Black Angus steak, both with chips and vegetables. A Mille Fuille dessert rounded off an exceptional meal accompanied by a pleasant Chardonnay. Served on hot iron plates, cooked correctly to our order, to a ‘melt in the mouth tenderness by chef Luis, flavoursome, well presented, and served by waiters Miguel and Chir (Ukrainian for Snow) who were helpful, attentive and informative.
Bottom line - This was one to remember.
