Looking for a smooth school transition for my (to be) 14 year old son from a small American private school

Family of four planning to move to the Marbella area for a year in time for the 2024/25 school year. Coming from a private school in the US and would like to ensure a smooth as possible transition. Children will be 14 and 9. Any advice welcome.
