Marbella Town Hall is organizing a complete and varied program for the Las Chapas Feria 2010 which is taking place July 9 to 11.

There will be lots of different activities for all ages which commemorates the Festival of Virgin Carmen.

The activities begin on Friday July 9 at 1:00pm with the inauguration of the Day Fair (Feria de Día) and continues until evening at 9:30 when a drum and horn band will play.

At 10:00pm local authorities will attend the inauguration and the lighting of the fairgrounds.

The activities will continue with the crowning of the Reinas and Damas Infantiles y Juveniles (Young Fair Queens and Ladies) as well as a dance group by Karina Parra, followed by the announcement of the Reina Popular de la Tercera Edad (Popular Senior Queen) and the election of Lady and Mister Las Chapas.

On Saturday July 10 in addition to the Day Fair, there will also be a celebration of the IX Pedal Day starting at 5:00pm on the fairgrounds. At 8:00pm that evening there will be a Solemn Mass in the Parish of the Virgin Carmen. One hour later there will be a procession of the Virgin followed by dancing for all the assistants of the Municipal Caseta (hut).

On Sunday July 11 at 10:00am at the Senior House there will be the IV Domino Tournament and the III Petanque Tournament at the Erick Plant Park. At 6:30pm a Children´s Party will be held at the Municipal Caseta (hut).

At 9:00pm there will be a dinner in honor of the local elders where they will participate and enjoy orchestra music. Those who wish to participate need to pick up an invitation at the Las Chapas Elderly Center before July 9. Places limited.
