La Culinaria
The final comment of my review of January 2015 for this eatery was a quote from the then maître D, Philippi saying “that it will be better next time” and my response “If they get their (service) act together I may well return”

The reason for this current review started back in September of this year when we visited Simon Benisti to express our condolences on the loss of his brother Albert, he asked If I knew that Albert’s daughter, Debera and husband Manola were running a restaurant called La Culinaria, and I told him about our experience of some 22 months previous, he suggested I should revisit it.
The dining room is almost unchanged from our first visit and the menu, although arranged more sensibly, contains the same dishes as the old one. Purely by chance, what we ordered was an almost identical meal of Chicken wings with honey and Rosemary, and to follow a plate of Boquerones and Calamares, and a Tempura Prawn Salad with Pine nuts, cherry Tomatoes, and a Mexican Salsa, and we finished our meal with a Raspberry Panacotta and a capaccio of pineapple with Coconut Ice Cream.
Not only was the food better than I recall but it all arrived, in the correct sequence, and was delicious. I’m delighted to report that none of the chaos of our original visit exists and that the quality of service was not on only to professional standards, but more importantly by staff that are seeking to please.
So now, we won’t need any prompting to go back!
The V.S: La Culinaria is in C/Federico Garcia Lorca, which is short road opposite Flores the Ironmongers in San Pedro. Average three course meal with wine 24€. Street parking.
