My car needs to have an ITV checkup in May, but I won't be back in Marbella until June. Do you know if I will be penalized or do I have to find someone to take my car in for me?
I was stopped by the Guardia and my itv was three months overdue. Luckily I had made an appointment the week before, and when I told them this they went to there car to check on the computer.
They then came back and said no problem, but warned me that if I did not take the test at the time of the apiontment the itv station would inform the Guardia

ITV collection and delivery service by: Antonio
This is my job. I make appointments for the ITV, collect your car, take it to the ITV, bring it back to you and translate what the report says.
If the car fails I can take it to a mecanic for you and then take the car back to resit the test within 30 days (this way you con't pay the ITV fee twice).
The current fee is about 50 euros for the official ITV and I charge another 50 euros (depending on where you are on the costa del sol) for the delivery service.
You can contact me by email at: top10webs@searchspaininenglish.com
p.s. For people who are not here when the ITV is due, you can give/post me the car key before you leave Spain and I will collect and then return your car to your home.

ITV by: Bennett Property Marbella
Personally we would have it done on time even if it means asking your neighrbours / friends / keyholder etc to do this. There are so many police sitting waiting for cars without a valid ITV and it is easy to spot if they are out of date. The cost of the fine is pretty high so we would definitely recommend getting it done on time.

ITV test in San Pedro by: Sabine
IF you go in june and you will get ITV it Starts then from june Not from may. Thats One Point. The other One is that you have to Pay 200 Euro Because Marbella Need some Money and the guardia civil Check Out the Cars ... Dont worry .... Make an appointment and all should be Fine....

Marbella ITV by: Sandra
The Guardia Civil stopped us at one of their many and very frequent random checks at roundabouts. We were fined 200 euros for just being literally a few days late. If you pay within 5 days you only need to pay 50%. I guess we were unlucky and they were lucky because they need to make money during this time of crisis. So it's up to you to see if you want to risk it or not...

ITV checkup in Marbella by: Stine
Just make an appointment now for June as soon as you are back. Also better to get appointment for that time as it gets very busy before the summer.
