Introductory printmaking course in Marbella museum
The Museo del Grabado Español Contemporáneo (Museum of Contemporary Spanish Printmaking) is holding a special introductory printmaking course 'XLIII Course Introduction to Engraving: engraving intaglio (engraving on metal)'. Students will learn the techniques of drypoint, etching, aquatint, sugar aquatint and soft ground.
This event is led by Ana Ortiz and will be held on Thursdays from October 6 to December 15, 2011.
Two sessions are being offered to the public: Mornings from 10:00am to 1:00pm
Afternoons from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
This activity is open to the public aged 13 years and older and offers a limited number of 16 spaces. Anyone interested can register (10 euros per person) at the museum´s head office everyday until 2:00pm from September 13 to September 23, 2011.
The museum reserves the right to cancel the workshop in the case less than six people sign up.

Ana Ortiz Alonso. 1977. Bachelor of Fine Arts, specializing in sculpture from the University of Granada in 2002.
Ana later became interested in the world of ceramics and created her own workshop. Today her work spans several branches of art. She became immersed in painting, drawing, ceramics, set design and engraving. Her first experiences of printmaking were learned at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Granada, but it was not until she attended courses at the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Printmaking when she delved into this artistic technique.
