I Photo Marathon in Marbella

Director of Área de Juventud (youth division in Marbella town hall), Diego López, and professional photographer Wayne Chasan, present the I Maratón Fotográfico ‘+ Joven’, (Photo Marathon) taking place November 20. Registration opens now until November 12 or until all 64 places are reserved.

Diego Lopez says the event is geared toward the city´s youth between the ages of 15 and 35 and is open to both amateurs and professionals. What is important is imagination, having access to a camera or mobile phone with camera capabilities as all types of photographs are accepted.

The day will be divided into two phases. The first will take place from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Participants will be driven around in a convertible bus to various areas of Marbella and must take photographs in movement. The second phase is from 3:30pm to 5:30pm where participants must photograph specific areas designated by the organization.

A maximum of two photographs may be submitted for the first phase of the competition, while one photo per destination may be submitted for the second phase.

Several prizes will be given to the winners of the competition:

1st place winner : €300
2nd place : €200
3rd place : €100
Most original photo : €150
Photo best representing youth values : €150
+ Joven photo which will be the front cover of the next edition of the magazine +Joven Marbella : €150

All photographs submitted to the competition will be exhibited at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Marbella from December 1 to 16. The photos will also be online and receive comments at www.marbella.es/juventud, where the competition rules and regulations may be found.
