CrossFit Elviria by: Anonymous
CrossFit Elviria Marbella wants to fuel a revelation in a new approach to fitness within the commercial - big box - gym engulfed market. CrossFit is currently the most efficient and effective exercise program out there.
The CrossFit approach is to leave the modern day technology and gym machines to gather dust and replace them with basic functional movements - squatting, jumping, lifting, pulling, climbing, running, throwing and twisting - using key equipment: barbells, kettle bells, ropes and medicine balls.
Here at CrossFit Elviria Marbella we believe that where you train is less important than how you train and that who you train with matters more than what gear you have. We know that this can be done in little boxes and that this environment is as good as any for forging elite fitness.
CrossFit is universally scalable, allowing us to target a full spectrum of clients regardless of age, gender and level of fitness. CrossFit combines gymnastics, weightlifting and metabolic conditioning in workouts. It describes its strength and conditioning program as "constantly varied (if not random) high intensity functional movement" with the stated goal of improving fitness.
Our program here at CrossFit Elviria Marbella delivers a fitness regime that is, by design, broad, general and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. CrossFit is a thriving style of fitness training. Consumers are slowly beginning to trade in their big box gym membership for a CrossFit box membership. They are not only entering into an environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle, but one that also provides a sense of community.
The little box gym is vastly more than just a scaled down big box gym. The big box feeds off membership and is most profitable when thousands sign up but only a few hundred actually make it through the doors - normally due to a lack of trainer guidance, motivation and results. The small box operates as a fitness training business, with full participation and high retention of athletes as its goals. The client is better cared for in the little box gym - with professional trainer guidance, high motivation and noticeable results - and they know it.

Beach Fit Marbella by: Glenn
Beach Fit Marbella is about putting the enjoyment back into getting fit and staying in shape.
It's outdoors in the fresh air and by the sea where the varied landscape of sand, slopes, steps, benches etc along with a combination of running, circuits and strength work mean that it is one of the most effective workouts you can do.
It is well documented that the more often you mix up your exercise routine the more effective your workout is. At Beach Fitness Marbella there is no chance to stagnate, you will constantly be varying your regime and keeping your body guessing. Each session is different which keeps it fun, interesting and stimulating and also means that you will be continually challenged both mentally and physically.
Although these sessions are about our instructors helping you to reach your own personal health and fitness goals, it is ultimately a group session which means that you will benefit from the camaraderie of the team where you will encourage each other to reach levels you did not think you were capable of. This is training for ALL levels, no one person is better or worse than the unit.
The classes take place come rain or shine, warm or cold but this is Marbella - warm and dry is a pretty safe bet for most of the year.
Throughout the year we will be arranging guest instructors from differing backgrounds and talks from lifestyle & fitness gurus, and of course there will be 'not to be missed' social events for Beach Fit members.
The first session is FREE so come down and try it out. We meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7am, and every Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm, infront of the Centro Ocio Plaza Del Mar
Prices: 40 euro per month for unlimited classes or 8 euro per class.

O2 by: Anonymous
O2 gym in Marbella is terrible.
Dirty and the equipment is old. They dont turn the aircons on during classes - not sure if they trying to save money or they just dont work !!!!
Every other machine is faulty - very frustrating to try and work out there.
Swimming pool and hot baths downstairs are great though.
2 hours under cover parking cost 1 euro for members.

You can try Gimnasio Olimpia. We don't have any personal experience with this gym, but it's worth checking out, because it isn't that far from you.
You can find more details here: www.gymolympia.es
Their address is: Avda. Trapiche, Paza Romeros de San Bernabé, 29601 Marbella

Gyms near Calle Valencia? by: Gerry
Hi Marbella Family
I just read your excellent comment about smaller gyms. I'm just looking for a very basic gym with weight machines and a few free weights (and a running or skiing machine or 2 to warm up). My apartment is on Calle Valencia/Av de Europa - do you know of any cheapo gyms within a few minutes walk of there? I was down in Hotel Fuerte and it's not bad, but I wonder if I can do better price wise.
many thanks!

gyms in marbella by: Zora
Where exactly on Ricardo Soriano are you located (it's a long street)? Do you want to be within walking distance? You may want to try one of the bigger hotels. The Hotel Fuerte if you're on one side or the Hotel Don Pepe if you're on the other.
The other option is to join one of the bootcamps or yoga sessions on the beach. My sister-in-law went for a walk on the boardwalk the other day and saw a couple of these kinds of classes running at the same time. To get an idea of what this is, take a look at the Bootcamp Costa del Sol, which is held on San Pedro beach. You can try to contact the trainer and ask if he knows of other clubs in Marbella center. The best thing about these kinds of groups is that it's very cheap and there is no committment.

Hey thanks for the response. I live on Ricardo Soriano so very central, have checked out a few of the bigger gyms but they are all much too expensive. We went to the plaza gym for a while near Puerto Banus but it's a bit far to travel now. A smaller, less equippeed gym would be great if it's a lower price :)

Club Fuerte Sports just on the maritim promenade is a good option too.

Marbella gyms by: Marbella Family
There are several gyms in Marbella city center. The largest one that is most central is O2 Wellness (www.o2centrowellness.com) in Plaza del Mar:
You can also try Atenas (www.gimnasioatenas.com) on Calle Pintor Pacheco.
If you are interested in the Puerto Banus area (not exactly center of Marbella) you can try Marbella gym QI in Vasari. Vasari has a web page (www.vasariresort.com), but QI seems to only have a Facebook page (QI Sports). In the Puerto Banus area, you also have Plaza Gym at the Centro Plaza commercial center. Again, they only have a Facebook page (Plaza Gym).
Another gym in Marbella is Dynamic Training Center (www.dynamicmarbella.com) a bit northwest of the city center where you can pay by the day (20 euro), week (40 euro), month (96 euro) or 10 day access (150 euro). I happened to pop in there today, which is why I have all this info now. :)
Other than that, you have lots of smaller boutique Marbella gyms that may be cheaper, but won't be as well equipped.
Where are you staying? I can let you know what the closest gyms are to you.
