Florians
They say pedigree is everything, so when I hear of a chef on the costa del sol that
was voted by the Guide Michelin over a decade ago to be the most promising chef for a particular year, then this is a must for me to sample his cooking. Florian moved from France to the costa’s about 6 years ago and opened his front line restaurant in the the Marina, not with French cuisine, but Italian!
Squeezed between La dispenser and a passage way you could easily miss the place.
There are two parts to the dining room, one overlooking the port with 9 covers on the patio
(with no sun shades) and 40 inside and a separate room with a well stocked bar and a further dozen places. The atmosphere is that of a comfortable Bistro, which I found pleasing. A comprehensive, but imaginative menu with most of the things you would expect to find for an Italian meal, plus some little gems! We chose a Salmon Tartar with Avocado and Wasabi Coriander cream, and Beef Carpaccio with rocket and Parmesan shavings for starters, and a Seafood Tagliatelly with Tiger prawns, and a surf & Turf dish of Rib eye steak and gratinated lobster bits in a lobster shell which I really could have done with more of, or I would have willingly accepted some lesser shellfish.. But even allowing for this small niggle, all four dishes were ? "mouth wateringly" delicious, indeed both starters were quite exceptional. We finish with a tasty Apple Strudel
