Carmen Thyssen Museum located in the Moorish part of Malaga city. This Museum is housed in a Renaissance palace which has recently been restored and named after Baroness Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza, who has given much of her personal art collection to the city to be displayed.
Facilities include, in addition to the exhibition rooms dedicated to the Thyssen Collection, the headquarters of his foundation, a library, rooms for samples temporary, didactic classroom, auditorium, museum shop, section of restoration and archaeological exhibition room.
The museum has 285 works forming part of the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza collection , and makes a journey through the different genres of Spanish painting of the nineteenth century , pictorial period framed chronologically between the figures of Francisco de Goya and Pablo Picasso , paying special attention attention to Andalusian painting. The initial agreement states that the institution has the paintings until 2025.
The museum is open to the public and also do private tours when doors are closed as well as hire their spaces, for cooperate events, academical events and so on. To find out more please contact the museum directly.
