Ballroom dancing classes

by Kate
(Marbella)

Hello,

I am an ex-pat who has recently moved to Marbella and I wondered if there are any ballroom dancing classes for adults in the marbella/puerto banus area? I am a beginner and would love to learn to dance all the traditional dances (waltz, tango, foxtrot, cha cha cha etc.)
Many thanks,
Kate

Best Place to Learn Ballroom Dancing
by: Carole

In 2014, this is the best place to learn ballroom dancing, also classes for kids. Nadia was a competition dancer in Russia and is an excellent teacher.

Salsa classes
by: Marbella Family

I literally just found this on Facebook. It´s not ballroom, but salsa. Still, I would ask if they offer/will offer ballroom:

Sonrisa Studios
Avenida Ricardo Soriano 46 Bajo
Marbella

Cuban Salsa teacher, Osmani Aquino, is launching a Salsa School with Sonrisa Studios in Marbella! He has taught all along the coast for years and will be teaching classes every Thursday from 6pm to 9pm. All levels are welcome.

Book of vouchers for classes from 2-40 from 30€ upwards and can be used at any time over the year. Every 4-6 weeks there will be a SALSA show where you will have the chance to see the experts move and to join in after the show! Please call for more details.

Ballroom dance class in Marbella
by: Marbella Family

There are several dance academies that cater to various dance styles. Many of the ones that I have posted are specifically for children, but some of them are for adults.

I remember seeing evening Latino dance classes at my gym at the Nueva Alcantara Padel and Tennis Club in San Pedro de Alcantara.

I also have a friend who opened a lovely little dance studio in San Pedro where they teach lots of different styles from belly dancing to ballroom. She and her husband give the classes and are really really nice people with lots of energy and smiles. Encarni was my Spanish teacher, so she also speaks great English if this is a problem. She and her husband Carlos are both certified instructors and have been dancing for years. The studio is called Ven y Baila and is located across from the Post Office on Pasaje Armando 10. They don´t have a website, but their phone number is 696 158 669 or 630 215 259.

You can also try Princess Studios in the Marina Banus shopping center in Puerto Banus. They have a very small studio, but it is not crowded. They often advertise professional dancers who have ballroom dancing experience. If they don´t have a class they may direct you to one. I don´t see a ballroom dance class on their schedule now, but many studios adjust their schedule for summer and winter with fewer classes in the summer, so don´t be discouraged if you don´t find anything yet. I also moved to Marbella in the summer time and looked for dance classes everywhere only to find very little. In October class schedules stabilize and you will find a lot more.

I hope this helps. We will continue to look for classes and post them here if we find anything new.
