Anti-ageing medicine
Discover the best treatments to help your skin regain its vitality.
More and more people are looking for ways to delay the effects of ageing, turning to different aesthetic treatments to help their skin regain its vitality. Today at
Vithas Xanit International Hospital's Dermatology and Aesthetic Dermatology Department, led by Dr Herrera Acosta, they explain some of the anti-ageing treatments most commonly used in aesthetic medicine:
● Botulinum toxin: often referred to as “botox” is one of the most commonly used facial treatments. It is given by injection in the area to be treated and is an easy and uncomplicated way of eliminating wrinkles and preventing the formation of new ones. The procedure should always be performed by qualified, experienced professionals.
● Hyaluronic acid: injections which erase wrinkles and redesign the outline of the face, highlighting and defining contours whilst helping to fight facial flaccidity.
● Laser: has become one of the most useful dermatological techniques in the last few years, allowing improvement or removal of skin imperfections, whether due to pigmentation, superficial wrinkles, scarring…..
● Thread lift: this technique is an alternative to the surgical facelift. The threads return firmness to the face, fight against flaccidity and tighten the skin of the neck through a simple and safe procedure. A grid is made using a network of crossed threads which support the facial tissues. The threads are very fine and made of an absorbent, biocompatible material which has been used in cardiac surgery for many years.
In addition to the above,
Vithas Xanit also provides other aesthetic treatments such as mesotherapy, PRP (platelet rich plasma), radio-frequency, chemical peel, excess fat removal, varicose vein treatment etc.
