Amore & Fantasia
Whilst walking around the port some weeks ago, we stop, look at a menu, and said to each other “lets put this one on the "To Try List”. It was because of this, on beautiful sunny day, we found ourselves lunching in the elaborately decorated Italian restaurant of Amore & Fantasia. Situated on the Benabola Muelle (the principle quay) in Puerto Banus, where all the big boats are. Maitra D’ Julie shows us to our table and leaves us to peruse the comprehensive a la cart, and 16€ 3 course menu. We select a King Prawn Cocktail and a half portion of Spaghetti Bolognese, to be followed by a Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli and Escallopine Marsala. We were both impressed, not only by the presentation, but by the tastes and textures of all four dishes cooked by chef Abeit, they were beyond our expectation, indeed I was hard pressed to recall eating a better Italian meal. The staff working under head waiter Jason, were attentive without being intrusive, unlike the 4 year old boy who could only converse at top of his voice, causing us to move tables to the other end to get some respite. Not withstanding this minor hiccup, we will be returning to explore more of the delights from this eatery.
