Aloha College with Cáritas
At Aloha College a main focus is to guide our pupils towards learning the values of compassion and respect for those who are not as fortunate as ourselves as well as those who have had their homes and livelihoods devastated as a result of natural disaster. This not only demonstrates that we are a caring school, but one which aims to give our pupils the opportunity to have hands-on experience in becoming actively involved in providing voluntary aid and assistance which will help them grow into responsible citizens.
Once again this year, Aloha College has teamed up with Caritas, at local and international level, in providing humanitarian aid where it is most needed. Our non-uniform day raised over 3,700 euros which was sent to Caritas Manila to assist with the Relief Programme as a result of Typhoon Haiyan.
As we approach Christmas, we also remember the growing number of citizens, from within our local communities, who are struggling to provide for the basic needs of their families as a result of the current economic climate. During the week commencing Tuesday 10 December, we will be collecting non-perishable food items and used clothing to be distributed by Caritas during the Christmas period. There will be a collection point for donations situated at the main entrance of the school.
As always, we thank our parents for their ever-generous support.
