Al Barco San Pedro
Yet another new boy on the block, open for Just 2 months, this traditional Italian restaurant, in a prime position towards the easterly end of the San Pedro Boulevard has been beautiful conceived and furnished to a high standard, lit with port hole-like fittings. With about 60 covers inside and a further 50 on the boulevard outside.
With NO English menu available, your choice has to be made from either a Spanish or an Italian menu. Over 70 dishes are listed with most of the expected offerings from this cuisine present. We selected Pumpkin Soup and Palma Ham with Melon for starters, and
mains of Ravioli with Mushroom in a white Truffle sauce and Parmesan shavings, and for me, Escalopine Marsala with potato papas and Broccoli heads. Little did I realise when I ordered this dish that the chef wouldn’t include the normal Sweet Marsala wine to make the sauce, but instead used the dry alternative, that brought little flavour to an otherwise exceptional meal.
Bottom line: we will return.
The VS
Al Baco is to be found on the north side of Avd. De Boulevard No. 8 Street parking or in Avda. Marques del Duero 200m. west. No Credit cards taken at present. They open for Lunch & Dinner 7 days a week. average cost of a 3 course meal with wine $30. Santi is the matra'd and Suria waited at table. No email address or website that I can discover, they promise business cards next week!
