* La Fishita restuarant Our family had a fantastic meal at La Fishita last night. This is a great place to get not only the freshest and most original fish and chips in Marbella, but other amazing dishes that you can't find anywhere else. Try their lamb kebabs, peppered steak pie, jumbo battered Cambridgeshire Gold sausages, fish cakes, and pickled ginger and wasabi mayo. They are well known for their tailored loose cover sofas and chairs, armchairs, tub chairs, club chairs and ottomans. Pop into their 700sq m showroom for a look around and find that piece of furniture or artwork you have always been looking for. They have beautiful unique items that are imported from South Africa. Great customer service! * Swans School summer camp If you just arrived to Marbella and not sure where to place the kids or have been here for a while and the kids are complaining their bored, why not take them to Swans Summer Camp? Located in Sierra Blanca just on the northern side of the city, Swans offers an exciting and varied programme for 4 - 10 year olds Mondays to Fridays from 10:00am to 2:30pm. The fun lasts until Friday July 27. Next week's program: Monday 23rd - Science Fun, Scavenger Hunt, Story and Rhyme Time, Swimming. Tuesday 24th– Cookery workshop, Table Tennis, Sports, Swimming. One American dollar now buys 82 euro cents. Or, to put it another way, a euro is worth $1.22. To put that into perspective, the euro reached $1.47 in April 2011. Which means Americans visiting Europe are getting 20% more bang for the buck than they were a little over a year ago. Click here to read more… * Sand sculpture festival Look out for the 1st International Sand Sculpture Festival "The Grand Sand" at Playa de Levante in Marbella, which started July 18 and lasts well after summer until October 14. Well known artists come from all over Europe to present their work, which must be 3 - 6 meters tall and use a space of 1600 sq. m. Competitions with young artists, students from art schools, and kid sandcastle competitions as well as sand sculpture workshops are open to the public. It was amazing then and I am sure it can only have got better! Although I don't think it's appropriate for young children. I will be going again to the one in Marbella but without my 4 year old. Some of the exhibits can be a bit shocking but most of it is informative and educational.” This exhibition runs at the Palacio de Congresos in Marbella until Septemeber 15th. Yesterday, by accident, I ran into one of our readers from the US (what are the chances of that?!) with whom I've been helping a lot by answering email questions and giving guidance on what to do and see in Marbella. When we realized we "knew" each other we just had to hug like old friends. I was showered in praise for the site and was told that the only reason her family was in Marbella was because of Marbella Family Fun.
